Testimonial widgets

Show approved testimonials on your site as a wall, a carousel, a single highlight or a rating badge, with one line of embed code.

2 minUpdated

Widgets show your approved testimonials on your own site. Create them in Testimonials → Widgets with New widget; a site can have as many as you like, for example a wall on the homepage and a badge in the footer.

Layouts

LayoutWhat it shows
WallEvery selected testimonial in a grid: 3 columns on desktop, 2 on tablets, 1 on phones.
CarouselOne row that slides, with arrows and dots. Swipe on phones.
Single highlightThe first selected testimonial as a large quote.
Rating badgeThe average star rating and the number of reviews, e.g. "4.9 from 32 reviews".

Choosing which testimonials appear

  • All approved shows every approved testimonial, newest first. Set a minimum rating to leave out lower ones; testimonials without a rating are then left out too.
  • Hand-picked shows only the ones you tick, in the order you drag them into. If a picked testimonial is archived or deleted later, it simply drops out.

Embedding a widget

Copy the embed code from the widget's page or its card:

<div data-sitebackend-widget="w_…"></div>
<script src="https://sitebackend.com/widget.js" async></script>

Paste the div where the widget should appear. The script only needs to be on the page once, even with several widgets. The widget fits the width of its container and grows to the height it needs.

Widgets have a transparent background. Under Look, pick Light, Dark or Auto (follows the visitor's device setting), rounded or square corners, and an accent colour.

When do changes show up?

Approving, editing or archiving a testimonial, or saving a widget, shows on your site within a few seconds. A widget with nothing to show (for example before you approve your first testimonial) takes up no space on your page.

Can other sites embed my widgets?

If your site has a domain set in Site → Settings, the collect form and widgets only load on that domain, its subdomains and localhost (so you can test on your own computer). Without a domain, they can be embedded anywhere.
