Introducing SiteBackend: a backend for static sites
SiteBackend handles form submissions, spam, contacts and notifications for static sites, so a contact form never needs a server again.
Static sites are fast, cheap and hard to break. Then someone asks for a contact form, and suddenly you need a server, an email provider, spam filtering and somewhere to keep the messages.
SiteBackend is that missing piece. Point your form's action at a SiteBackend endpoint and you're done:
<form action="https://api.sitebackend.com/forms/YOUR_FORM_ID" method="POST">
<input type="email" name="email" required />
<textarea name="message" required></textarea>
<button type="submit">Send</button>
</form>It works with plain HTML, Astro, Next.js, Nuxt, Hugo, Webflow, or anything else that can render a <form>.
What you get today
- A form endpoint that accepts regular form posts,
fetchrequests and JSON. HTML forms get redirected to a thank-you page (or your own), and JavaScript gets a JSON response. - File uploads, stored privately, with per-form size and type limits.
- Spam protection out of the box: a honeypot field, a content filter for link spam, per-visitor rate limiting, and optional Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha or reCAPTCHA.
- An inbox for every form, with unread, starred, spam and archived folders, plus CSV export.
- Contacts. Everyone who submits with an email becomes a contact on that site, with notes, tags and their full submission history.
- Notifications by email, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp, Google Sheets or signed webhooks, with automatic retries when a destination is down.
- Workspaces and teammates. Keep each client or project separate, and invite people as admins or members.
Pricing
There are two plans. Free includes 100 submissions a month on one site, with files up to 10 MB and 1 GB of storage. Pro is $9 a month (or $90 a year) for unlimited submissions, unlimited sites, files up to 100 MB, 20 GB of storage and auto-reply emails to the people who write in. Every other feature above is on both plans. On Free, submissions past the monthly limit are still saved, just hidden until you upgrade, so a busy month never loses a message.
What's next
Embeddable review widgets are the next big piece. If you want something that isn't here yet, tell us, since that's how we decide what to build.
