Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us when you use SiteBackend. Please read it before you create an account.
Effective 28 September 2026
In short
- Your forms, submissions and files belong to you. We only use them to run the service for you.
- Don't use SiteBackend for spam, phishing, malware or collecting data you're not allowed to collect.
- Each plan has limits. Submissions over your monthly limit are rejected until the next month or an upgrade.
- You can export your data and delete it at any time.
Who this agreement is with
These terms are an agreement between you and [company legal name], [registered address] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using SiteBackend, you agree to them. If you use SiteBackend for a company or client, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on their behalf.
Your account
- Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us at [privacy email] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You're responsible for what happens in your workspaces, including what your teammates do.
- You must be at least 16, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Acceptable use
You may not use SiteBackend to:
- Send or collect spam, or run forms that trick people into submitting information (phishing).
- Collect passwords, full payment card numbers, or special categories of data (such as health data) unless you have a lawful basis and the right safeguards in place.
- Upload or distribute malware, or content that's illegal where you or the submitter are.
- Overload, probe or attack the service, get around plan limits or rate limits, or access other people's data.
- Resell or white-label the service without our written permission.
We may pause a form, or suspend an account, that breaks these rules or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Your data
- You own your content: your forms and settings, the submissions and files you receive, and your contacts and notes.
- You give us permission to store, process and send that content only as needed to run SiteBackend for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- For personal data in submissions, you're the controller and we're your processor. Our Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms.
- You're responsible for having a lawful basis to collect what your forms collect, and for telling the people who fill them in, for example in your own privacy notice.
Plans, limits and fees
- Each plan's limits (submissions per month, sites, file sizes and storage) are shown on our pricing section.
- Once a workspace reaches its monthly submission limit, further submissions are rejected until the next calendar month (UTC) or an upgrade. We'll email the workspace owners and admins when the limit is reached.
- Pro is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time under Plan & billing → Manage billing; Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then the workspace moves to Free.
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. They're the seller on your receipt, and they calculate and collect any sales tax or VAT. Their terms apply to the payment itself.
- Fees aren't refundable, except where the law says otherwise. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of your plan.
The service
- We work to keep SiteBackend available and your data safe, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't offer a service level agreement.
- We may change or improve features. If we remove something significant that you rely on, we'll tell you in advance.
- Notification destinations (such as Slack, Google Sheets or your webhook) are run by other companies. We retry failed deliveries, but we can't guarantee those services will accept them.
Ending the service
- You can stop using SiteBackend at any time. You can export submissions and contacts as CSV, and delete forms, sites and workspaces yourself. To close your account, email [privacy email].
- We may end these terms if you seriously or repeatedly break them, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason.
- When an account is closed, we delete its data within 30 days, except anything the law requires us to keep.
Disclaimers and liability
- SiteBackend is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we make no guarantees beyond what these terms say.
- As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of the content you collect through SiteBackend, or because you broke these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes, we'll tell account holders by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using SiteBackend after that, the new terms apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by [governing law], and disputes are handled by [courts]. If you're a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you.
